AmCham Abu Dhabi Supports St. Joseph’s School Scholarship Fund

Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. – AmCham Abu Dhabi made a significant donation to the St. Joseph’s School in support of the school’s scholarship fund. The donated funds were raised at the 7th Annual AmCham Abu Dhabi Excellence Awards and 17th Annual Charity Gala held on January 27, 2017. Charitable donations of this magnitude have been made by AmCham Abu Dhabi on a formal basis for the past 17 years, in keeping with AmCham’s commitment to promoting goodwill between the U.S. and U.A.E. by giving back to the community.

The delegation from AmCham Abu Dhabi included Sharief Fahmy, Chairman, Theresa F. Weber, Executive Director, Elias Sayah, Board Member and event sponsors represented by Najam Sheikh, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Harry Dawson, Northrop Grumman. They were warmly welcomed at St. Joseph’s by Sr. Carmen, Principal, St. Joseph’s School, Fr. Gandolf Wild, Personal Secretary of Bishop Paul Hinder and Joseph Flynn, Managing Director, St. Mary’s Group of Schools.

“2017 was declared the U.A.E’s Year of Giving and AmCham Abu Dhabi is proud to continue the tradition of raising funds to support St. Joseph’s School,” said AmCham Abu Dhabi Chairman, Sharief Fahmy. “Helping students receive a quality education they are not able to afford is a positive step to ensuring they will succeed in the 21st century.”

“We are very grateful to AmCham Abu Dhabi for their generous donation,” said Joseph Flynn, Managing Director of the St. Mary’s Group of Schools. “AmCham Abu Dhabi’s continued support will help us provide financial aid to a number of students in need.”
